AFSC invites Friends across the country to gather in silent worship in public spaces to give witness to the rising authoritarianism and oppression in the United States.
Shared witness reflects core Quaker principles: peace, equality, integrity, and community. And taking action publicly is a visible commitment to justice and compassion.
By standing together in silence, we affirm that every person has worth, that fear and violence must give way to love and fairness, and that our communities thrive when all are welcomed.
Our next actions will take place June 13 - 14 and July 4.
July 4 - Love as Action: A Declaration of Resistance
On July 4, the American Friends Service Committee invites people of faith and conscience across the country to take part in a coordinated national day of action: a Declaration of Resistance. Together, we will commit to protect people and communities, resist authoritarianism, and build an equal and just future.
Each gathering will include a physical Declaration of Resistance—an art piece that participants can sign as part of the event. Together, these signed Declarations will form a visible, collective expression of resistance across the country.
