Seattle Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin, Jr. announced the first round of grantees for the Seahawks Players Equality & Justice For All Action Fund yesterday – and the American Friends Service Committee was one of them!
Specifically, the $15,000 gift will go to support two efforts. One is a program engaging youth in working to analyze issues of racism and organize for change. The second is an anti-racist intergenerational community effort to stop the construction of the proposed new youth jail in King County, Washington.
Congratulations to all of the youth and community members in Seattle whose work will be bolstered through this gift, and thank you to the Seattle Seahawks for this recognition and support!
