Change is in the Air.
It’s Spring! And there are big changes happening at the American Friends Service Committee PA Office.
This April we welcomed Amanda Gross as the new PA Program Director. She will be overlapping with current PA Program Director, Scilla Wahrhaftig until the end of September 2014 when Scilla retires.
Amanda Gross has a background in Arts and Peacebuilding. Before coming aboard, Amanda spearheaded the Knit the Bridge project, a large-scale public art project on the Warhol Bridge whose goal was to bridge communities in Southwestern, PA through collaborative art-making. Before Knit the Bridge, Amanda studied the intersection of arts and peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University’s Center for Justice and Peacebuilding. She has an MA in Conflict Transformation with an emphasis in Restorative Justice.
In May, the AFSC PA Office moved into a new office space still located in the Pittsburgh Friends Meeting. We are particularly excited about our new office’s balcony.
We invite you to come visit Amanda and check out our new space!
