Proud Heritage
A joint project of New Empowerment for Women Plus (NEW+) and the Logan County Improvement League, this 50-page book recounts the unique role played by African Americans in the history and culture of the southern West Viirginia coalfields. ($12)

Welcome to My World
A Photo Voices project enabled young women who participated in the NEW+ mentoring program to explore their world using disposable cameras. The moving portraits give life and urgency to the challenges faced by the students and other residents of the coalfields. ($4)

Remembering from Back Then: Stories of our grandmothers
Young women in the NEW+ mentoring program learned invaluable life lessons when they interviewed older African-American women and men. The young participants said that the inspirational stories helped them to better understand the challenges of African Americans who came of age during segregation.
