AFSC NM provided comprehensive hands-on farmer-to-farmer training from 2009 to 2018. Beginning farmers were mentored on all aspects of sustainable farming including crop selection, soil health, irrigation methods, harvesting and post harvest handling techniques, business planning, aggregation and marketing.  Training was provided in Bernalillo, Rio Arriba, and Dona Ana Counties.  The New Mexico Acequia Association and Bernalillo County now offer farmer training programs based on our model.

AFSC NM continues to provide technical assistance to small farms in our network through 'Farmer Training 2.0.'
