Standing with Ahmaud Arbery

Today a jury convicted Travis and Gregory McMichael and William Bryan, the three white men involved in the shooting death of 25 year old Black jogger Ahmaud Arbery. Described by many as a modern day lynching, Ahmaud Arbery’s brutal killing is indicative of the endemic white supremacist violence present in the U.S today.

While we believe that prisons and courts do not bring justice or address the root causes of violence, we hope that this verdict can give communities across the country a moment of rest as we continue the struggle for true justice, accountability, and healing.

As we mourn the loss of Ahmaud Arbery and send love and solidarity to the Arbery family, we renew our efforts to work for racial justice, systems that promote healing and accountability, and an end to violence in all its forms.
