When: Wednesday, April 9, 7:00 pm

Where: Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation, 303 Dodge Avenue, Evanston, IL

From the Book Description: “What will make it irresistible for Jewish women to free ourselves of internalized anti-Semitism, expanding our sense of possibility? Hope Into Practice responds with a rare blend of healing stories, fascinating history, and a fairminded perspective on Israel-Palestine–asking us to love ourselves enough to face our fears without acting on them. Anchored in Jewish ethical tradition and community, it’s an activist’s call to repair the world. AND it includes an action-oriented Reader’s Guide, for groups or individuals!”

About Penny Rosenwasser: A life-long heartfelt rabble-rouser for justice, Penny Rosenwasser is former Jewish Caucus Chair of the National Women’s Studies Association and a founding board member of Jewish Voice for Peace.

Penny teaches an Anti-Semitism/Anti-Arabism class with a Palestinian colleague at the City College of San Francisco and is also a member of the European American Collaborative for Challenging Whiteness. A former performing folk musician, KPFA radio host/producer, women’s music networker, festival organizer, and diversity workshop leader, Penny has been active on issues ranging from ending nuclear power and weapons, to feminism and queer liberation, to peace and racial justice, especially focusing on Israel-Palestine—including leading four women’s peace delegations to that region.
