Israel is the largest cumulative recipient of military as well as total U.S. aid since World War II. Israel has received over $106 billion from the U.S., including $58.6 billion in military aid. The U.S. Congress approves this aid, while the Department of Defense, with assistance from the Department of State, is responsible for transferring the weapons.
