Chronology of AFSC Work in Middle East, 1982

Photo: Archives / AFSC

A two-page outline summarizes AFSC’s involvement in aid for Jewish and Palestinian refugees in the region, dating from the Brummana High School in the late 1870s, to the East Jerusalem Information and Legal Aid Center, established in 1973 and now independent. Programs include many cooperative efforts such as a work camp for Israeli Jews and Arabs; and Middle East Youth Programs that brought Jewish, Arab, and Palestinian youth together with international volunteers, for seminars in Europe.
