A Brief Explanatory Statement of the Fayette County Rehabilitation Project, 1937

In a four-page brochure, AFSC introduces the need for, and philosophy of, an experiment in agricultural cooperative living aimed at unemployed industrial workers. The proposed site is on 200 acres of farm land in western Pennsylvania.

“This is not a real estate development in the ordinary sense of the word. It is operated as a non-profit corporation for the purpose of experimenting in finding a greater economic security and better social life for the great body of industrial workers in this country.”
