A Wichita native, Nawal studied Global and International Studies at the University of Kansas and connected with AFSC at national conferences of Students for Justice in Palestine. Her current work focuses on supporting AFSC's traveling Boycott poster exhibit, the No Way to Treat a Child campaign, and development of the Night Raids photo exhibit.

Nawal says she hopes to continue in non-profit work with a focus on Middle East issues. She said she appreciates AFSC's strong roots and its work on a variety of peace and justice issues. She describes her colleagues Jennifer and Shirien as "inspirational" and "awesome."
