AFSC joins in global agony at seeing the devastation of yet another war. We unequivocally call for a full and immediate withdrawal of Russian troops and an end to air and sea attacks in Ukraine. But flooding the region with additional weapons and escalating violent conflict is not the answer. We have seen time and again that military aid and military intervention may sound like decisive ways to protect civilians from war, but they have failed to offer that desired protection. We need to find new ways to end global violence, not reflexively fuel its cycles.
Tell Congress: Say NO to military responses and invest in diplomacy, refugee protection, and international cooperation instead.
