Take action: Justice for Mahmoud Shaalan

Mahmoud Shaalan was a 16-year-old high school student who was born and raised in Florida. He was shot by Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint near the Beit El settlement in the occupied Palestinian territory. Soldiers stripped Mahmoud’s body, left him bleeding on the road for more than two hours, and prevented a Palestinian ambulance from taking him to a hospital.

AFSC, along with other religious and human rights organizations, sent a letter to the Obama administration a few months ago calling for justice for Mahmoud. The Department of State has written back and expressed concern over Mahmoud's killing, but so far the Obama administration has not backed up its words with actions.

Now it's time to urge President Obama to take action by suspending financial aid to the Israeli unit responsible for Mahmoud Shaalan's death.
