How Your Gift Is Being Used
AFSC is very fortunate to have many general fund donors so that in crisis situations we can use 100% for the relief effort.
Almost all of the money raised, 85% or more, is used in the
field for relief and recovery work. And no more than 15% will
go for directly-related relief support, administration, and evaluation
work by our Asia coordinating desk or Emergency and Materials Assistance
Program staff in Philadelphia.
If we didn’t have these staff members we could not even begin to coordinate the effort abroad. Our ability to allocate 100% of a relief gift to that effort is a rare blessing that we can maintain as long as our general funds gifts stay strong.
Material Donations and Volunteer Opportunities
At present, we are not collecting materials, kits, clothes, nor are we sending volunteers to the area.
