This week’s failure by the Senate to take up the defense spending authorization bill also has derailed action on the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act. That act would have created a path to citizenship for undocumented youth who go to college or enter the military.

The AFSC views this delay as an opportunity to foster dialogue among immigrant rights groups, so that all undocumented youth can achieve their hopes and aspirations.
