STOW: The film Legalize Democracy will be shown in the Munroe Falls room of the Stow Public Library, 3512 Darrow Road, at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The movie examines the history of the relationship between corporate power and social movements in the quest for democracy in the United States.
It was produced by Move to Amend, a national group seeking a federal constitutional amendment to establish that only human beings, not corporations, possess constitutional rights and that political contributions aren’t equivalent to political speech.
A discussion will follow the film, including the possibility of starting a Stow Move to Amend chapter.
The film showing is sponsored by Ohio Move to Amend and the Northeast Ohio American Friends Service Committee in Cuyahoga Falls. For more information, contact 216-703-0425 or 330-928-2301.
