AFSC - St. Louis, Missouri

The St. Louis office is planning our trivia night fundraiser and silent auction on May 16, 2009. Here are a letter and donation form for those interested in contributing to our event.  Whatever you can contribute will be greatly appreciated.  Please consider joining us.  Please contact our office if you are long distance and will be shipping an item.

Ways you can help with AFSC-St. Louis Trivia Night:

·         Collect donations from area business or individuals for the silent auction (usually valued at $50 or above)

·         Collect donations for door prizes (usually valued at $5-10 or more)

·         Consider donating an item from home (art, gift cards, jewelry, painting, book collection, professional services, etc)

Thanks so much for your support!

Peace and Blessings,

The Hiroshima Peace Delegation recently visited St. Louis and is working with AFSC as we advocate for the Mayors for Peace program. Yoshiko Kajimoto (2nd from left) had never traveled outside of Japan, and she was really excited to visit the Arch (see photo). The Hiroshima outreach director is Miki Nagahira (far right, next to Lori Reed of AFSC).

The AFSC Office in St. Louis has two programs:

Community Justice

International Affairs

The St. Louis Board of Aldermen passed this anti-war resolution.

AFSC couldn't carry out its work without dedicated volunteers and contributors. We welcome inquiries from people interested in serving in the following ways:

  • Committee members to serve on our Area Program Committee, Community Justice Advisory Committee, and International Affairs Advisory Committee
  • Office volunteers
  • University/high school/youth interns assigned to one of the programs.
We particularly need people with skills in graphic design, writing, grant writing, data entry and fund raising, as well as people with knowledge of international issues and economic justice.
