What You Can Do
WHAT YOU CAN DO
1. Invite your friends and neighbors to see a video in your living room or invite members in your community to a showing of a video in a public place.
A list of possible films can be found on the AFSC website at www.afsc.org/israel-palestine/learn/films.htm.
2. Invite a speaker to your community to give a talk about the situation in Israel/Palestine.
A list of possible speakers can be found on the AFSC website at www.afsc.org/israel-palestine/learn/speak.htm.
3. Organize regular meetings with your elected representatives to present your vision of a just peace between Palestinians and Israelis.
Grassroots pressure is an important way to encourage your congressperson and senators to vote in favor of promoting a just peace between Palestinians and Israelis. See the website of the US Campaign to End Israeli Occupation at www.endtheoccupation.org for issues that are to be voted on.
4. Join one of the accompaniment programs to Palestine and Israel.
Accompaniment programs are one way to travel to Palestine and Israel and work for peace. Please see the websites for the following organizations to learn about how you can get involved: Christian Peacemaker Teams (www.cpt.org), Ecumenical Accompaniment Program in Palestine and Israel (www.eappi.org), International Solidarity Movement (www.palsolidarity.org), International Women’s Peace Service (www.iwps.info), Michigan Peace Teams (www.michiganpeaceteam.org).
