Fair Trade Palestinian Olive Oil available from MEPEP
AFSC MEPEP in Atlanta is stocking certified fair trade olive oil from Palestine in order to support impoverished Palestinian farmers and their peaceful struggles. We are also building educational campaigns to raise awareness about their plight and the effects of the occupation.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for Palestinian farmers' to produce olive oil and support their families. Palestinian farmers are having their fields destroyed and made inaccessible by Israeli settlements and the separation wall. Israeli closures and restrictions make it difficult for Palestinians to tend to, harvest and sell their products, and the threat of settler violence makes harvesting and tending to crops dangerous. Palestinian farmers have responded with peaceful demonstrations at the site of the wall's construction with the help of international and Israeli volunteers. In this struggle, the olive tree has become a symbol for Palestinians, representing their ties to the land and the promise of a future of wealth, security, and sustenance.
How Your Contribution Helps
Purchasing Palestinian olive oil is an easy way for you to directly support Palestinian farmers, benefit children living in occupied Palestine, and create awareness for peace in Palestine.
The farmers are given fair trade prices for their product and gain a market that is otherwise inaccessible to the Palestinian people. In addition,
an extra dollar of each bottle sold will be donated to Trees for Life, a program to plant thousands of olive tree seedlings in Palestine. Additional funds will go to help support Project Hope, an arts and education program for young people in Palestine.
Your purchase of olive oil also helps fund the AFSC's Middle East Peace Education Program.
