Peacebuilding Program

Help us to amplify and deepen the work of the Chicago Peacebuilding Program. We need volunteers to:

  • Assist in organizing peace actions and events and non-violence trainings
  • Coordinate statewide locations for Eyes Wide Open: Illinois and the Eyes Wide Open National Guard Exhibit
  • Help us keep the Eyes Wide Open Exhibits up-to-date
  • Travel with Eyes Wide Open: Illinois

Truth in Recruitment

Our Truth in Recruitment Program is made stronger by the many volunteers who work with us. Here are a few examples of ways in which you can become involved in our work:

  • Adopt a school in your community (PDF, 10 KB) 
    e.g. providing schools with literature, speakers, opt out forms
  • Pass out opt out forms at public events
  • Attend Local School Council and School Board meetings to advocate change in Chicago Public Schools recruitment policies

Chicago Adopt a School 2010-2011

The American Friends Service Committee’s Truth and Recruitment program will focus their efforts in 2010-2011 on three broad areas: Schools (middle, high schools, and city colleges)
