Daoud Nassar

Daoud Nassar speaking at AFSC in Des Moines

Daoud Nassar is a Palestinian Christian whom AFSC sponsored on a recent speaking tour of Iowa. Founder of Tent of Nation's, Daoud's theme was, "We refuse to be enemies."

The Iowa Peacebuilding Program draws on the strengths of individuals and organizations across Iowa to support the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

We advocate for an end to U.S. financial, military, and diplomatic support for Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestinian land. We engage Iowans in the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, initiated inside Palestine and targeting corporations that profit from the occupation.

We work with faith communities and allies to build an anti-drone warfare campaign in Iowa using public witness, demonstrations, and legislative advocacy to exposes the myth of drones as a “kinder, gentler” form of warfare.

We educate the public about the many costs of war—from financial trade-offs that favor Pentagon spending over human needs, to the physical and psychological costs of war, to soldiers and their families.

We seek to partner with college students and other young people by providing volunteer and intern opportunities.
