With the help of LEPCO, as the main exhibit sponsor, we were again able to gain some publicity with the press, specifically the Central Pennsylvania Express Times, which ran a positive story about the exhibit. Even though we were at the Civic Center and the day threatened to rain, the event was kept outside. The weather did not seem to keep anyone away as the crowds gathered despite the weather. One woman whose husband had just recently returned from a one-year tour in Iraq walked between the boots. “It just makes you think about what the families and soldiers have gone through and what they are still going through,” she commented. “Sometimes people turn a blind eye. They like to complain about the situation but do not want to see the negative results.” Sponsors: Lehigh-Pocono Committee of Concern (LEPCO), Lehigh Valley Friends Meeting, Lehigh Valley Green Party, Peace Committee of Unitarian Universalists, Church of Lehigh University, Pax Christi Lehigh Valley, Progressive Student Alliance of Lehigh University, Cedar Crest College Peace Coalition
