Make Peace a Presidential Priority
The Democratic and Republican primaries have significantly shifted the debate on issues that we care about.
With the question of who will lead the United States still to be decided, we have a chance to determine what they will see as the nation’s most critical issues. We have important work to do!
In addition to being a part of our visible call for peace, please consider a making a donation today to support AFSC programs to promote peace and justice during this pivotal time.

Here are AFSC’s focal points this year:
The Iraqi Refugee Crisis
Regardless of how or when the war ends, the United States has an obligation to Iraq’s refugees. We need to make their care a priority and part of our responsibility to help heal the wounds of war.
Diplomatic Options for our leadership
We’re advocating and creating strategies for the new administration so that “diplomacy” and “dialogue” can emerge as preferred methods towards U.S. relations with Iran, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Kenya and other conflict zones around the world.
The Economic Cost of War
The Iraq cost $720 million dollars per day. The taxpayer money spent on the war is displacing millions of Iraqis instead of supporting health care, education and housing for people in our own communities.
The Human Cost of War
Our acclaimed Eyes Wide Open exhibits are touring in more than 40 states, bringing the traveling memorial to those who lost their lives in the Iraq war to communities around the country.
Be a Peace Voter
In order to keep peace issues in front of voters, the media and candidates, we are asking all of our friends around the country to join AFSC and become a peace voter. There’s unlimited potential to engage in constructive discussions with candidates at many levels about peace, justice, and moral budgets targeted for human needs.
Here are some tips and materials to help keep peace issues at the forefront of this election season:
