Volunteer to be an Administrative Committee Member

Get involved!  Join AFSC to work for peace and social justice!

AFSC is an international peace and social justice organization, and recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.  Since its founding by Quakers in 1917, the AFSC has brought people of diverse backgrounds together to work for and promote peace, social and economic justice and human rights in the United States and throughout the world.  Its work is based on a Quaker belief in the dignity and worth of every person, and a faith in the power of love and nonviolence to bring about change.

AFSC has always been guided in its work by both administrative and program committees, which provide well-informed oversight and support for the work of each region.  In the Pacific Southwest Region – which includes New Mexico, Arizona, Hawai’i and southern California – the administrative committees include affirmative action, finance, and nominating committees, as well as the executive committee for the region.

Our region has an ongoing need for volunteers from throughout southern California to serve on its administrative committees.  We seek volunteers who are deeply involved and committed to issues of peace and social justice, and who can link these concerns with the work we do.

We especially welcome applicants whose skills in fundraising, public relations, community organizing, program planning and evaluation, and communications can help us be more effective.  We encourage all interested individuals to apply, regardless of their religious affiliation, race, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.
