AFSC's Colorado Immigrant Rights Program works to create public discourse and policy that supports immigrants’ full human rights. As a founding member of the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition, AFSC collaborates with groups across the state to highlight the root causes of immigration and find humane responses to it.
AFSC founded Coloradans for Immigration Reform (CFIR) to meet the need for the general public to have a better understanding of immigrants’ struggles and contributions. By educating and organizing citizens in support of the human rights for all people, we strengthen and broaden the movement for immigrant justice. We are informed by our understanding of immigrant experiences and we take guidance from immigrant-based groups. CFIR believes that immigrants are best equipped to define their own liberation.
