By Train:
NEW JERSEY TRANSIT trains leave New York Penn Station on a frequent basis for the Newark Penn Station. The trip time is approximately 15 minutes each way, and the round trip fare is $5.00

PATH trains run to Newark Penn Station approximately every 5 – 10 minutes, less frequently during off-hours. PATH trains cost $ 1.50 and take about 30 minutes each way. Trains leave the Herald Square subway stop (6th Ave at 33rd St.)14th St. and 6th Ave, or 9th St and 6th Ave. direct to Newark. Be sure to take the train that says Newark.

Exit the train station through the main exit, just past the information booth. Once you exit, walk across the lanes of waiting cars, bearing left, until you reach Market Street (the Station is between Market & Raymond Blvd). Go right on Market. Continue on Market all the way to 89 Market Street. You will cross streets Broad, Halsey and Washington Streets before reaching 89 Market. Look for the call box to ring for entry, to the right of the doors. Follow the signs to the elevator. We are on the 6 th floor.

Driving:

From Garden State Parkway: Take Exit 145. Follow signs for route 280 East. Stay in right hand lanes when 280 forks near Newark following signs for NJ Turnpike. Just past fork, take exit for “Martin Luther King Boulevard.” Turn right at bottom of exit onto ML King Boulevard. Proceed straight through 2 lights to Central Avenue. (St. Michael’s OLD Hospital is on the left corner.) Turn left onto Central Avenue. Take Central to 3rd light – Halsey Street – and turn right onto Halsey Street. Proceed 9 blocks. Turn right onto Market Street. Proceed one and a half blocks to 89 Market Street (on the right side of the street). For parking, see below.

From New Jersey Turnpike: Take Exit 15W and follow signs for Route 280 West. From 280 West, take Exit for Route 21 – Newark. Upon exiting, proceed straight by passing turns for 21 North and South until you come to Broad Street. Turn left onto Broad Street. Take Broad Street about ¼ mile to Washington Park. Turn right at light at end of the Park onto Washington Place. Take first left on to Halsey Street. Proceed 10 blocks on Halsey to Market Street. Turn right onto Market Street. Proceed one and a half blocks to 89 Market Street (on the right side of the street).

From South on NJ Turnpike: Take Exit 13A. Stay left and follow signs to get onto Routes 1 & 9 North. Staying left, merge onto Route 21 to Newark. Go over viaduct and stay right to take Broad Street exit. Follow Broad Street to Kinney and take a left onto Kinney. Turn right onto Washington Street. Proceed 3 blocks to Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street. You’re looking at 89 Market Street when you make the turn onto Market.

Parking: There are several paid lots on Halsey Street near Market. The ones South of Market are much less expensive than those North of Market. There are also lots South of Market on Washington Street.
