Past Projects
Partnerships for Youth
The violence experienced by young people has produced a range of institutional
and organizational responses, including a number of school-based programs teaching
peer mediation and conflict resolution. Many young people, however, are not adequately
supported by the school environment and are drawn into a variety of community-based
youth programs with which the Project works in partnership.
From 1997- 2002, the Project,
working with three community-based youth organization:
- provided conflict resolution training
to the participating youth;
- provided technical assistance
to the organizations as they integrated a conflict
resolution curriculum;
- facilitated interaction among
organizations working with youth and conflict; and
- continued an internship designed
to increase skills and leadership capacity of youth
between the ages of 18-22.
This project was coordinated by
Cheshire Frager from 1997-2002.
