North County CA Times: Latinos attend human rights forum

About 30 members of North County's Latino community gathered Saturday at the MiraCosta College campus in Oceanside to learn about the rights they can exercise if stopped by police ---- especially at traffic checkpoints.

The Human Rights Council of Oceanside organized the event to address growing concerns among some residents that the checkpoints unjustly target Latinos for enforcement. The AFSC's Christian Ramirez presented at the event.
