Call for the Swift Abolition of Nuclear Weapons

Gensuikyo, the Japan Council against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs has launched a global petition campaign for the "swift abolition of nuclear weapons." The petition will be used to press the nuclear powers to fulfill their Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty commitments to negotiate the complete elimination of their nuclear arsenals. Gensuikyo's last petition campaign gathered more than 5 million signatures and were presented to the United Nations during the 2005 Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty Review Conference. Organizing for the Call for the Swift Abolition of Nuclear Weapons has been designed to make a still more powerful statement by the world's people. Please sign and return (by e-mail or post) the Call which follows below. You can also print out a hard copy to circulate as a petition.
