Tips for Schools to Improve Access to Opt-Out

• Put the Opt-Out letter in students' first-day packets
• Attach opt-out information to the emergency contact form
• Make the form mandatory
• Offer incentives (pizza party to first homeroom that turns in every form, etc.)
• Place the Opt-Out letter on main page of school website
• Place Opt-Out letter in registration packet for any new students
• Mention the Opt-Out at first PTO and School Board meeting of the year
• Print Opt-Out form in first newsletter of the year
• Print Op-Out letter in first is sue of school newspaper
• Ask teachers to bring up Opt-Out during Back To School Night
