Background: Maryland Interfaith Peace began over lunch on on November 13, 2006.

A group of clergy and lay leaders began with the question “How the Faith Community can work to end the war and bring peace to Iraq." We began working to find answer.

On January 28, 2007 we organized an “Interfaith Vigil of Commemoration and Commitment to Peace.” at the Episcopal Church Church of the Incarnation. This fall, we are organizing a college peace conference, Interfaith Service and Vigil supporting a national fast for peace.
