So why are we so concerned about queer youth and militarism?

And why do we want to write a big thing about it?

Well, for one thing, it’s not clear in some people’s minds that queer youth are affected by the militarism in any way, much less in ways that are different from anyone else. And if you are wondering the same thing ... keep reading.

Those of us who put this publication together either work with queer youth or are queer youth. We see a lot of connections among queer youth concerns and broader issues of peace and justice. That’s why the contributors hope to make those connections real by sharing their stories.

We can only start to scratch the surface on the complicated ways in which the racism, repression, sexism, heterosexism and violence of militarism touch our lives, but we hope we'll spark your interest to learn more by talking with friends and checking out the groups and resources you’ll find here.
