New Strategic focus: Reducing Urban Citizen Insecurity

The AFSC office in Bogota, Colombia is our “hub” for the Andean Region. The office is implementing a pilot project  to better understand  how citizen’s experience insecurity.  Based on the outcomes, the focus will move to longer-term multi-stakeholder initiatives to address citizen.

Before launching the pilot project, the office consulted widely with civil society actors, local governmental representatives, and research. As part of this exploration an initial consultation -- Urban Citizen Insecurity and Conflict Transformation:-- was held in Bogotá, Colombia April 3-5, 2008.
