Learn about the Olive Harvest - Organize an olive oil gathering
The Ziyarat az Zeitoun project offers several types of educational gatherings you can host to help your friends, family and community learn more about the Palestinian olive harvest.
At this time the following event formats, house party or small gathering, are available in the Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles areas:
Tasting the Olive Cuisine
Participants can sample different types of olive oil, learn different recipes for cooking with olive oil, learn about the traditions of olives and oil in Palestinian culture, and attend cooking demonstration.*
Participants may sample and purchase olive oil.
Beyond the Olive Branch: Harvest Realities
Participants will hear a presentation on the challenges Palestinian olive tree farmers face – destruction of trees, curfews, closures and checkpoints – and the solidarity that is organized by Israelis and internationals.
Participants may sample and purchase olive oil.
