Religious Resources

To Quakers, silence is an expectant waiting for God. In silence, Friends open themselves to leadings from the "voice within."

If you want to have something more than silence alone at your event, you might consider beginning and ending with a reading, prayer or song. These resources are for those who wish to bring something from their own or other faith traditions to their event.

Remember that those attending your vigil will come from many backgrounds. Be sure that any songs, scriptures, or prayers that you use will not make those present feel uncomfortable or excluded.
