Remembering a long term staff, committee member, and tireless supporter of AFSC.  Roger Rumpf, international peace activist  at 68 died at his home in Missouri, surrounded by family.

War in Syria

AFSC supports a political settlement, locally created, by all people in Syria. Finding solutions that include all Syrians and foster reconciliation will not be easy. But—as the lesson of Iraq proves—solutions imposed by external forces and that emphasize sectarian and ethnic divisions do not work to build peace.

The total lifetime cost of the F-35 program is $1.5 trillion—making it equal to the entire 10 years of cuts mandated by the sequester. Remind Congress that there are easy ways to eliminate waste without cutting human-needs programs that create real security.
