Gold stars filled the windows of the Campus Center, representing fallen soldiers.
The students at Fitchburg State College decided to make a gold star for every fallen soldier represented in the Eyes Wide Open exhibit at their college. The stars filled the windows of the Campus Center and Library, where the indoor exhibit was on display. Outside, the campus grounds were frozen solid during setup of the 1,195 pairs of boots and 1,000 civilian shoes.
