Eleven hundred twenty-seven pairs of boots quickly filled the empty space.

The Convention Center in Milwaukee offered an extremely spacious venue for Eyes Wide Open. With 1,127 pairs of boots and 1,000 civilian shoes, there was still room for approximately 4,000 visitors. The local NPR affiliate, WUMW, broadcast live from the exhibit.
