Events Calendar Guidelines

AFSC is a nonpartisan 501(c)3 organization whose resources cannot be used for any partisan political purpose. AFSC is permitted to engage in lobbying activities, but only to a very limited degree. Therefore, the use of the AFSC events calendar should be guided by the following:

The events calendar can be used to promote...

  • events sponsored or co-sponsored by AFSC or any of its programs or units;
  • events sponsored by other non-partisan, non-profit organizations that share AFSC’s goals and values.

The events calendar cannot be used to promote...

  • events or organizations that endorse or support political candidates;
  • events that directly or indirectly promote action or raise money for partisan political purposes;
  • lobbying on issues and topics AFSC would not otherwise lobby for;
  • events or organizations whose expressed positions conflict with AFSC’s commitment to the Quaker testimonies of equality, peace and nonviolence, social and economic justice, and civil and religious freedom.
