Join In These Times to celebrate the release of our April 2014 issue and launch the new book "Strike for America: Chicago Teachers Against Austerity" by Micah Uetricht.

Bhaksar Sunkara, editor and publisher of Jacobin Magazine and In These Times senior editor, will join Micah Uetricht to discuss his new book, the first definitive chronicle of how the Chicago Teachers Union was able to take on Mayor Rahm Emanuel and his cadre of billionaire-backed 'reformers.'

There will be free copies of the new issue available—featuring a cover story on the new housing scheme to make Wall Street firms our new landlords—and you'll be hanging out right smack in the middle of ITT's office headquarters.

Free beer and snacks will be provided.

Also on display at our office art gallery are two concurrent exhibitions—Chicagoaxaca: Selections from The Assembly of Revolutionary Artists of Oaxaca, and Stainlessness: An exhibition of prints representing labor movements in Sudbury, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Detroit. More info on the exhibits can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/615953825137016/

In These Times, an independent, nonprofit magazine, is dedicated to advancing democracy and economic justice, informing movements for a more humane world, and providing an accessible forum for debate about the policies that shape our future.
