Screening of the movie "Papers"

Tuesday, November 16, 2010 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Approximately 2 million children who were born outside the U.S. have been raised in this country, share our language and values, and know no other home. Over 140 such students graduate from RI schools each year.  Yet upon graduation from high school they find the door to their future slammed shut.  Papers documents their stuggles.  Some of these students will share their personal stories after the screening. Donations at the door.  All proceeds to benefit the Tam Tram Scholarship of the Cesar Chavez Scholarship Fund.  Tam, who attended Brown and worked ceaselessly to address these problems, died is a car accident this past spring.  The film and the scholarship carry on her advocacy.
