People's Hearing on Worker Justice

Saturday, October 23, 2010 - 1:00pm

Stop worker injustice!

Every year, crooked employers cheat employees out of billions of dollars in wages and benefits and take advantage of hardworking families.

Join us for an unparalleled opportunity to make sure the U.S. Department of Labor listens to everyday people.

CCI is one of five groups across the country to host a "People's Hearing" with the U.S. Department of Labor. Top officials are coming to Des Moines to hear from everyday folks about worker justice, wage theft and enforcement issues.

Wage theft affects all people in Iowa. Greedy employers cheating wages means less money going to our local businesses and communities. The time has come for government to listen to everyday people instead of big corporations and abusive employers. We believe that everyone has a right to be paid for the work they do and to be treated fairly.

Testimonies from our own community will show how these injustices affect all Iowans and why we demand change now. Join us to put people before profits!

Speak out about worker justice and wage theft in Iowa!
