International Day of Peace Events at Unitarian Church of Evanston

Sunday, September 19, 2010 - 1:00pm - Tuesday, September 21, 2010 - 7:00pm

All are invited to join members of many different faiths to recognize and celebrate United Nations International Day of Peace (Sept. 21) and to help create peace in our world.

Activities at the Unitarian Church of Evanston (UCE) include a celebration at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, on the south lawn of the Church, 1330 Ridge Avenue or in the sanctuary if weather does not permit. There will be music, Dances of Universal Peace, and prayers for peace. UCE children eagerly look forward to displaying the giant peace “dove” they have made.

On Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. join us for a showing of the film “The Day after Peace” in which filmmaker Jeremy Gilley creates an annual global ceasefire/non-violence day against all odds.

Activities are being organized by UCE’s Peace and Justice Program in collaboration with Interfaith Action Evanston.

The Church is located one block north of Dempster, at Greenwood, with parking available in the lot off Greenwood or on the street. The building is accessible.
