When: Thursday, August 30th, 12-1pm

Where: TIAA-CREF Illinois Office, 200 N. LaSalle Street, Chicago (Corner of Lake and LaSalle)

Nine years ago, peace activist Rachel Corrie was crushed to death in Gaza by a Caterpillar militarized bulldozer. On August 28th, the Corrie family awaits the verdict on a trial that has taken almost a decade to unfold. The Rachel Corrie Foundation asks us to remember Rachel by demanding TIAA-CREF divest from Caterpillar. TIAA-CREF invests more than $1 billion in Caterpillar, whose weaponized bulldozers systematically demolish Palestinian communities in East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza.

Chicago Divests will honor the Rachel Corrie foundation's call to action. On August 30th, we will hold a vigil outside of the TIAA-CREF office and deliver our petition to them. We will let TIAA-CREF know that they can not continue to invest in human rights abuses and the occupation of Palestine. We will do it for Rachel, and for peace and justice in Israel and Palestine.

Divest for Rachel, divest for human rights.  Join us outside of TIAA-CREF's Chicago office!

Sponsored by Chicago Divests, American Friends Service Committee, The Committee for a Just Peace in Israel and Palestine, Jewish Voice for Peace, and the ChicagoMovement for Palestinian Rights
