Israel is the largest cumulative recipient of military as well as total U.S. aid since World War II. Israel has received over $106 billion from the U.S., including $58.6 billion in military aid. The U.S. Congress approves this aid, while the Department of Defense, with assistance from the Department of State, is responsible for transferring the weapons. This factsheet provides a closer look at where the money comes from and what it's used for.
