If I Could Change the World

The "If I Could Change the World" Spoken Word Project is organized by the KC Program of the American Friends Service Committee  in colloboration with The Writers Place and is intended to help youth communicate their hopes and visions for a better world.

AFSC interns and spoken word artists are presenting 90 minute to two hour interactive educational workshops in one or two sessions to school and youth groups to engage youth in developing their ideas about how they would change the world and in creating spoken word pieces which communicate their visions.

Interested youth are invited to attend a follow up Saturday, March 16 revision workshop to further refine their spoken word work. After the  revision workshop, youth are invited to participate in performances at The Writers Place, Troost Festival, Blue Room and in other venues.
