AFSC supports student speech on Palestinian rights

During our work with students, AFSC has been witness to increasingly well organized and well funded efforts to silence student speech in support of Palestinian rights. Forms of intimidation have included name calling, death threats, physical attacks, and legal actions.  AFSC and 12 other organizations are now speaking out, affirming the First Amendment rights of students to speak on these issues.

In this letter we urge all universities to resist outside pressure to punish students for their political speech, and to respond with the respect for students’ constitutional rights that it is the university’s duty to protect and to promote.
