AFSC joins call for investigation into the death of Anastasio Rojas

This week marks the second anniversary of the death of Anastasio Hernandez Rojas. He was a long-time border resident who was beaten and killed by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents at a U.S.-Mexico border crossing.

AFSC was the first organization to assist his relatives, consoling them and lifting up the humanity of that tragedy just a few hours after the incident occurred.

Many other people have joined the chorus urging President Obama to conduct a thorough investigation of Border Patrol abuses that have resulted in the killings or serious injuries of at least nine people since 2010.

This new letter also asks President Obama to ensure that those CPB agents found responsible of those killings are held accountable, and to direct the Department of Homeland Security to evaluating CBP policies and training on use of force.
