This report analyzes general lessons from AFSC’s experience of setting up community fisheries. The report analyzes:
- the sources of solidarity in fishing communities,
- the strengths and limitations of different community organizing strategies,
- the involvement of women at different stages of the community organizing process, and
- the connection between community fisheries and rights-based approaches to development.
