Sandra Schwartz is the peace education Coordinator for the AFSC in San Francisco, California. She works with the Alternatives to Violence Project by educating people about the concrete actions Colombian communities leaving in peaceful resistance to the conflict are implementing. Sandra is available to speak on issues of displacement and abuses of union leaders, as these relate to Colombia and AFSC’s work with communities living in peaceful resistance and the impact of US military aid on these communities. Elizabeth Pabon is a member and Co-Program Coordinator of Reflect & Strengthen (R&S). Reflect & Strengthen (R&S) is a group of young women from working class backgrounds creating and nurturing an environment for positive social change through creative expression, community-building and political education. Elizabeth is available to speak on issues of displacement and abuses of union leaders, as these relate to Colombia and AFSC’s work with communities living in peaceful resistance and the impact of US military aid on these communities.

Gabriel Camacho is the Project Voice coordinator for AFSC in Cambridge, MA. His work deals with every day survival issues such as Temporary Protective Status, workers’ rights, “no match” social security letters, access to driver’s licenses, and police abuse in his community. Part of his work is to help form Human Rights Committees. In these committees a number of subjects come up for discussion. One dynamic topic is “why did we come here?” In the Colombian community the most popular answers are the economy and the war. Gabriel works to educate the communities and others about the roots of displacement for Colombians. Gabriel is available to speak on issues of displacement and abuses of union leaders as these relate to Colombia and AFSC’s work with communities living in peaceful resistance and the impact of US military aid on these communities and union leaders. Gabriela Flora is the Project Voice Coordinator for the AFSC in Denver Colorado. Currently, Flora has engaged in a series of activities and alliances to educate the public and impact US policy toward Colombia. AFSC has taken a leadership role in legislative visits to gain support for capping US military and civilian defense contractors in Colombia and educating legislators about the negative impacts of Plan Colombia. Anyango Reggy is the Director of AFSC’s International Program in St. Louis, MO. Reggy has been working on issues related to Colombia for four years. Her peace education work in St. Louis focuses on raising up the struggle of Afro-Colombians living in peaceful resistance to the conflict.
